Mohamed Jalloh is a climate justice activist, climate and environmental practitioner, trainer, agroecology specialist, policy advocate, and youth leader committed to advancing sustainable development, climate resilience, and food sovereignty in Sierra Leone. He serves as a the Executive Director- Youth Alliance for Sustainable Development (YASDev) and lead youth coordinator and collaborator with regional and international networks, including Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), ActionAid, Internation Pollutant Elimination Network (IPEN) and Africa Coalition for Sustainable Energy and Access (ACSEA), while actively contributing to Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) processes and climate policy advocacy. With extensive experience as a facilitator and trainer, Mohamed works with young people, farmers, civil society organizations, and local communities to build capacity on climate justice, agroecology, biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, environmental governance, and community resilience. He advocates for inclusive and evidence-based policies that elevate youth voices and strengthen local participation in climate action and decision-making. His work focuses on reviving indigenous seeds, strengthening food sovereignty, and reconnecting urban youth with local farmers across Sierra Leone. Working closely with rural communities—particularly in the North West and Eastern Provinces—he promotes sustainable agriculture through agroecology training, community seed banking, climate-smart farming practices, and youth-led livelihood initiatives. By bridging traditional farming knowledge with innovative, climate-resilient, and environmentally sustainable approaches, Mohamed empowers young people to see agriculture as a driver of innovation, entrepreneurship, and solutions to pressing environmental and socioeconomic challenges. He envisions resilient, food-secure communities led by a new generation of agroecology champions who protect biodiversity, restore local food systems, influence climate policy, and build sustainable rural economies for present and future generations.
