Hello, I'm Saykwakyee!
Saykwayee H. Henry-Zinnah is a Liberian agricultural entrepreneur, youth leader, and sustainability advocate dedicated to transforming food systems and empowering communities through agriculture. She is the CEO of Shana Food Production, an organic food production company focused on producing brown rice, cassava, and other healthy local food products in Liberia.
She also serves as Chairperson of the World Food Forum Liberia Chapter, where she works with young people, women, and agricultural organizations to promote food security, innovation, sustainability, and job creation across Liberia.
In addition, she is the Founder of Kids Development Initiative, an organization committed to supporting and empowering children through education, development, and community-based initiatives.
Through her leadership and advocacy, she continues to champion sustainable agriculture, youth empowerment, child development, and community transformation across Liberia.
My Story
My passion for agriculture is deeply rooted in the reality of living in a country blessed with rich and fertile soil, yet heavily dependent on imported food for the survival of its citizens. It is heartbreaking to see a nation with so much agricultural potential struggle to feed its own people while vast lands remain underutilized.
One of the greatest challenges is the mindset surrounding agriculture, especially among young people. Many youths view agriculture as a “poor man’s business,” which has reduced their interest and participation in the sector. This perception continues to limit innovation, food production, and opportunities for economic growth.
At the same time, many children suffer and even die from malnutrition and other health-related diseases caused by the lack of proper nutrients and balanced diets. These realities continue to inspire my commitment to promoting agriculture, food security, youth involvement, and sustainable farming practices that can improve livelihoods and create a healthier future for our communities.
