My Story
My inspiration as an Agroecological Expert is rooted in a conviction that farming can heal rather than deplete by restoring degraded soils, strengthening biodiversity, and securing livelihoods all at once. Seeing smallholder farmers trapped in cycles of expensive inputs and declining yields drove me to champion agroecological approaches that work within their means while building long-term resilience. I am equally driven by the conviction that agroecology is a tool for equity: empowering women, youth, and people with disabilities with both ecological knowledge and entrepreneurial skills, so that those most marginalized become leaders in the movement. Over seven years, the evidence from the field with healthier soils, more diverse harvests, farmers gaining confidence and agency has only deepened my commitment to translating complex science into practical, context-tailored solutions that communities can own and sustain.
