Hello, I'm Tlsetse!
Tleetse is a dedicated passionate environmentalist, eco-feminist and climate justice activist from Lesotho serving as the Founder & Executive Director of Women Initiatives Lesotho (WIL), a nonprofit organization established to empower women and youth through sustainable development, community-led environmental projects, and climate education.
Her role, leading Women Initiatives Lesotho's multi-pillar programs that integrate water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH), sustainable agriculture and eco-governance to foster community resilience.
She is also a 2025 Mandela Washington Fellow and 2026 Commonwealth Professional Fellow, where she honed her public management and leadership skills at Texas Tech University and Lifegate Outreach Centre — with the goal of applying integrated management systems to improve governance and sustainable service delivery back home in Lesotho.
Her achievements include founding and scaling Women Initiatives Lesotho, mobilizing a massive tree-planting initiative - The Greening Mafeteng Initiative, and building grassroots climate education platforms. Before Womem Initiatives Lesotho, She cut her teeth as a civic leader, advocating for marginalized women in rural contexts through agroecology, permaculture, and organic farming practices.
Her vision is to build a just and sustainable future in Lesotho, where environmental sustainability, gender equality, and governance are fully intertwined.
